How to get mmc card ?What is MMC Card?
MMC Plus
The history of MMC card
1.In September 2004, the MMC Association launched MMC plus and MMC mobile products. The size of the MMC Plus card is the same as the ordinary MMC card. What’s more, it has a faster read speed. When it works at 52mhz frequency with an 8-bit data bandwidth mode, the data transmission rate can reach 52mb/s. Meanwhile it meets the needs of digital image storage and other data intensive applications. For example, they can work with high-end digital cameras, digital video cameras, etc. Also, some other manufacturers have recently launched low-voltage MMC plus cards.
2.At present, the commonly used memory cards of mobile phones are microSD cards, namely, the TF cards. Its standard size is 15mm x 11mm x1mm. MicroSD cards are mainly used in mobile phones, but because of their small sizes and increasing storage capacity, they have also been used in GPS devices, portable music players and some flash memory discs. The size of it is 15mm x 11mm x 1mm, as small as fingernail. Furthermore, we can connect it to the SD card slot by SD adapter. Currently, microSD cards provide a 128MB, 256MB, 512MB, 1G, 2G, 4G, 8G, 16G or 32G capacity.
The application
MMCplus is a memory card for cameras. Its working mode meets the requirements of high-speed transmission (measured data: read speed 20mbyte/s and write speed 15mbyte/s), and has backward compatibility with devices using MMC, RS-MMC and SD cards.
In 1997, Siemens and SanDisk introduced multimedia cards, which are smaller than the CF cards. In this way, smaller portable devices can take them. For basic applications, MMC can be controlled through a standard three wire SPI interface plus a chip selection line. The clock frequency of SPI interface can be up to 20MHz. For applications requiring higher bandwidth, the expanded 4 and 8-bit bandwidths are available. The MMC Version 4.0 adds a 52MHz frequency to support the 50MBPSs transmission rate. Unlike CF, the MMC does not exempt licensing fees. According to www.mmca.com, if you are not an MMC manufacturer, you can order MMC version 3.1 or 4.1 (MMCmobile and MMCplus) for $500 or $1,000 respectively, and your company does not need to be a MMCA member.
There are currently several types of memory cards based on the MMC framework: MMC Plus, MMC Mobile, MMC Micro and eMMC. The MMCplus is a nominal size MMC card. It works under the voltage of 2.7 ~ 3.6V, with a 1, 4 or 8-bit bus bandwidth. The MMC Mobile has the minimum read and write performance of 2.4mbps and a 26MHz frequency. It is smaller and supports lower voltage: 1.65 ~ 1.95 V and 2.7 ~ 3.6V. It can also support all the performance carried out by the MMCplus.
